New Satisfying Selections from Weight Watchers Smart Ones Review #smartonesreview

While most nights I cook a meal for the entire family, there is at least one night a week where we pull out frozen entrees.  What I like about frozen entrees is that my husband and I can have something totally different without making a mess in the kitchen or wasting food.

I was excited to hear about the New Satisfying Selections from Weight Watchers Smart Ones as they feature 30% larger portions than traditional frozen entrees.   That is the one complaint my husband and I usually have, there is not enough meat in them.  These new meals are packaged in a bag (instead of a little tray) with heartier pieces of meat and veggies, perfectly portioned to stay on your nutritional track at dinnertime.  There are five new delicious flavors that have less than 400 calories, 8-10 Weight Watchers PointsPlus and 25 grams or more of protein.  You can also steam them in the microwave (right in the bag) or cook on the stove top.

The new Smart Ones bagged meals are available in five delicious flavors:

  • Sesame Chicken
  • Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo
  • Ziti with Meatballs & Cheese
  • Chicken with Broccoli & Cheese
  • Chicken Teriyaki Stir Fry

So because I couldn’t wait until dinner, I whipped up the Ziti with Meatballs & Cheese.  First, I love that I was able to throw the whole bag right in the microwave for four minutes to cook it.  When it was ready I poured it right into my bowl to start eating it.  The thing I noticed first before I ate it was how many meatballs the entrée had!  I am talking tons of big hearty meatballs!  Then the ziti noodles were smothered in yummy marinara and cheeses.  The entrée absolutely satisfied me and filled me up.  Well it could have been a little bigger but for someone counting calories it would be enough.  So not only did I have a delicious meal but it was much more nutritional that something I might have had to eat.

I am excited now to try out the other flavors, especially at less than $4 a meal.  They are super convenient too being able to be cooked in the microwave and stove top, the bags are not big and bulky either so they won’t take up a lot of room in your freezer.  While I am not counting points (Weight Watchers) I love that they have the points marked on them for easy calorie counting.

BUY IT:  Look for New Satisfying Selections from Weight Watchers Smart Ones in the freezer section of your local grocery store for a suggested retail price of $3.69.
