Pre-Purchasing “The Amazing Spider-Man” Gift Set #SpiderManWMT

My son loves Spider-Man, last year he had a reversible costume of Venom and Spider-Man for Halloween that he has worn countless times since. Well I of course needed to check out the new Spider-Man movie for him and Wal-Mart was the place to be. Wal-Mart has not only great prices on DVDs but they had a exclusive gift set they are featuring.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” Trailer:

For just under $30 I was able to pre-purchase “The Amazing Spider-Man” Exclusive Blu-ray and DVD Movie Gift Set. It even comes with a limited edition mask dvd case! So yes it costs a little more than a plain DVD, but it comes with both the DVD and Blu-ray, a Limited Edition Mask DVD Case, and yes theres more! If you pre-purchase the set you can redeem a code inside to enable access to the deleted scenes and stunt rehearsals to watch immediately and then on October 30th the UltraViolet digital version of “The Amazing Spider-Man” will be available in your Vudu.com account. Oh and Vudu is of course free, it is a rental service similar to Netflix or iTunes that you can also add digital copies of your favorite movies to.

Since I wanted to make it a quick trip, I went alone and in the morning. I only bought two things: some milk for Olivia and the movie – in and out! I found a display in the Electronics section that had a nice display with the movies. I found the DVD version and the Blu-ray/DVD Gift Set, but I opted for the Blu-ray Gift Set.

Once home I opened up the case to find just a cardboard insert with a redemption code to use at Vudu. I actually already have a free Vudu account so it was just a matter of adding the code, which I found to be easy to redeem. Then you input your mailing address to receive your movie gift set mailed to you on or around 11/9.

Here is the screen from when I log in:

Since I bought the movie through pre-order I will not only get an electronic copy but also an actual DVD:

Here is it on my account:

I can watch the movie and bonus features on:

Overall, I have never pre-ordered a movie before but this was painless and I like the extras. The ease of having the movie delivered to me when its out is nice compared to having to wait in lines. My husband loves that he can watch this movie anywhere, especially on his iPhone which he tends he watch movies on while we travel.   We will actually be hosting a viewing party when the movie comes out for our friends and family to watch it at our house!  We actually can watch Vudu.com on our D-Link Media Streamer so we can all watch it on our big screen television.
