Changing Monopoly Tokens – Which Do You Pick? #tokenvote

I cannot even tell you how many times I have played Monopoly in my lifetime, but it has been a lot.  Monopoly is a game of traditions and it is a Classic game that I am sure future generations will love too.  One thing future generations though will miss out on is one of the classic Monopoly pieces.  Yes, Monopoly will be retiring one of eight game tokens.  One of those eight tokens is heading to jail and will be replaced by one of five new tokens:  the diamond ring, guitar, toy robot, cat, and helicopter.

Potential New token choices:

Up for retirement are:

• the battleship
• iron
• racecar
• Scottie dog
• shoe
• thimble
• top hat
• wheelbarrow

For me, I honestly choose either the racecar or the wheelbarrow, depending on who I am playing with.  I have tried the other pieces but they just don’t feel right to me, not that I have ever won at Monopoly!  I think I would vote for the Scottie Dog to be removed and replaced with the diamond ring.  In my family, we all have our own pieces that we use each and every time and I can’t imagine the pieces changing!  A new Monopoly game piece sounds so strange to me, but I suppose it is time for a new one!
