This weekend I had the chance to attend the Long Grove Chocolate Festival with my 4 year old, Gavin.
I was going there not only to check out all the yummy chocolate shops but also to check out the Mohawk SmartStrand demo. Why have a Mohawk booth at a chocolate festival? Well because we all know how easily spills can happen on carpeting, including chocolate stains! The booth, appropriately called License to Spill, was set up right outside the Sweet Whimsy Bakery who was serving chocolate fondue.
With three kids at home, I am quite familiar with carpet stains and we are definitely due for new carpeting at home so I was curious to check out Mohawk SmartStrand. It was definitely nice to see the stain fighting in action. SmartStrand is like no other carpeting as it has a permanent stain and soil resistance built in that will never wear off, not just a topical treatment like other stain fighting carpet brands. You don’t have to worry about the treatment wearing off and as long as you have the carpet you will have stain protection built in.
How easy is it to clean SmartStrand? Extremely easy! No need for harsh chemicals, most stains can be removed with just water! Just dab a stain with water and a washcloth. Some stains, especially oil based, will require a mild detergent like dish soap but thats it. So goodbye ketchup, wine, red Kool-Aid, Soy Sauce!
