Second Season of I’m Having Their Baby Premieres Tonight June 12th

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post by Oxygen but my thoughts and opinion remain my own.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Oxygen is bringing back a 2nd season of I’m Having Their Baby & it premieres tonight, June 12 at 10/9c.

Season One of I’m Having Their Baby was the first show of its kind, as it premiered a documentary-style series that gave viewers an intimate peek into the world of adoption. It showed the untold story of the birth mother’s decision to give up her baby for adoption and the feelings and actions that go along with that decision. An unplanned pregnancy can create a whole whirlwind of emotions and adoption can be such a taboo topic. The show will now continue for a second season, from the start of the adoption process to the ultimate decision of whether or not to place the baby up for adoption.

Season two will tell the same basic story of the women and their adoption decisions, but it will actually go deeper into the lives of birth mothers entering the adoption process, their family and friends affected by their decisions and in some cases the potential adoptive couples. Each episode will follow the lives of two pregnant women who have already made their decision for adoption and are working through what comes next. The women get to know the birth mothers and in some cases the birth father, the hour-long episode also allows viewers to see a real adoption process and the emotional decision that each woman goes through.

Throughout Season Two, there will be a wide range of stories told from women that are teenagers to some in their later twenties all across the country. The circumstances that led each woman to their decisions are all diverse and ultimately all the women struggle with their decisions. All the birth mothers want their stories told in an open and honest manner. Prior to the show, each woman had previously sought adoption agencies and finalized their decision to seek adoption for their unborn child. While adoption laws do vary from state to state, the production company had no part in influencing the birth mothers. The network did a nationwide casting call to find these birth moms who were willing to share their stories, and once those individuals were selected, their stories were followed. Oxygen’s goal is to be authentic in the representation of the women’s personal journeys and the mixed emotions surrounding them.

I also wanted to announce the winner of the $50 Visa/AMEX Gift Card from my previous I’m Having Their Baby post….drumroll please….Congrats to Sarah A.
