Five Amazing Hen Night Ideas

Being chosen as the maid of honour for a friend’s wedding is a wonderful experience and something you should be very proud of. But don’t forget that the maid of honour has certain duties to perform, one of which is planning and throwing a hen night party that your betrothed BFF will never forget! Of course, sometimes planning a hen night is easier said than done, particularly if the party’s to be a surprise and you’re unable to ask your friend what she would like to do. So here are five amazing hen night party ideas which are guaranteed to see your friend’s single life off in style!

  1. The Adventure Day

If the bride-to-be is a bit of a keep-fit fanatic, then taking her out for a full day of action and adventure could be the perfect way to let off some steam before she starts her new life as a married lady. There are plenty of activities to choose from which are suitable for groups, such as assault courses, paintball, shooting, flying and rock climbing. Some bridesmaids even surprise the bride by having her do all of the activities wearing a wedding dress – just make sure it’s not the one she’s about to get married in!

  1. The Crafty Day

If your friend is a crafty type of person she’ll probably love the idea of making her own table settings, customising her invitations and maybe even baking her own cake! For this type of girl, a full day learning or practicing a new craft is the best hen party idea of all. There’s all sorts on offer, from pottery glazing to china painting, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find one everyone will enjoy.

  1. The Psychic Day

Seeing a psychic may sound a little silly, but for the bride with a spooky side this is the perfect way to celebrate her upcoming nuptials. Gather your hen party around a Ouija board, make a call to a Kooma clairvoyant or even take a trip to experience a séance first hand!

  1. The Girly Day

For some hens, the best way to celebrate is just to have a full day of having all of their girlfriends about them. So get the vino flowing, rent a few silly movies, stick a compilation CD on of all your favourite music and make sure you’ve got the cameras at the ready for a few silly snaps of you all together.

  1. The Pampering Day

If your best friend is someone who likes to be spoiled then a luxurious pampering session could be right up her street. Many spas offer specific hen party packages which are designed to accommodate the needs of a good sized party, and most offer additional little luxuries for the bride-to-be. Spa days are the perfect way to relax and unwind before the big day, and many also offer complimentary champagne and nibbles!
