I remember when Chuggington first came out on the Disney channel, it was a breathe of fresh air for my family.  Don’t get me wrong we love Thomas the Train, but I was more than ready for a new train show and characters.  When Chuggington finally came out with toys, I was thrilled.  From wooden tracks to plastic tracks and trains, Chuggington has lots to offer as far as train sets go.

The newest Chuggington playsets from Tomy include plastic tracks that can be stacked for even more fun!

Chuggington StackTrack Rescue at Rocky Ridge Action Playset

Based on the “Chug Patrol and the Rescue at Rocky Ridge” Chuggington episode, this playset allows young engineers to recreate the exciting adventure. After receiving her new rocket boosters and speeding a little too quickly through Rocky Ridge Mine, Koko gets trapped in a crevice under a pile of rubble. Chug Patrol Wilson must come to the rescue, using his new Chug Patrol skills. He bursts through the entry barriers, barrels through the mine shaft, crashes through the archways, and must avoid the tumbling boulder on his way to save the day.

This playset comes with not one but two trains in addition to enough pieces to build a pretty awesome train track layout.  Kids can build the layout based on the included instructions or however they want, and yes these pieces can be combined with other Chuggington StackTrack sets!  The trains don’t just ride down the Rocky Ridge but they actually ride through obstacles including a crash through boards, a falling rock and sharp turns.

My favorite part of this set is the ease of putting together.  The pieces do really snap together easily for kids and come apart easily for storage.  I know for us, its important for my kids to be able to things themselves since I can’t always stop what I’m doing to help them, its also a great way for them to build confidence and independence.  This is a great starter set for any train lover or like I said it can be added on to other Chuggington sets.  You can also use other trains on this sets as well.
