Staying Safe & No More Car-Related Headaches with Zubie

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zubie. All opinions are 100% mine.

One thing I rarely think about is my car.  It is something that I assume will always work and when it needs something fixed I assume it will let me know;  unfortunately sometimes the letting me know part can come too late.  I have had flat tires, dead batteries, engine misfires and other random problems happen and before they were things that couldn't be predicted.  Now with my new Zubie I can at least be a little prepared for previously-unknown problems.

So what exactly is Zubie?  Well, it is a subscription-based service that monitors your car, your driving, your location and hopefully saves you money and future headaches.  Zubie is a little device that plugs in under the dashboard of your car and for my Honda Odyssey it was super easy to install.  It just clicked in, no tools required, although some cars may require some finagling.

Zubie features:

  • Real-time information on health of your cars systems and condition
  • Monitors and tracks speeding, sudden acceleration, hard braking, vehicle location and more
  • Alerts you if you have a low-battery and translates engine codes
  • Secure location sharing and trip coordination features
  • Earn driving scores and badges to make safe driving more fun
  • Connects to an iPhone and Android App so you are always connected

So far I haven't had any maintenance issues with my car, but I love that I am prepared.  It will be nice if an engine code does appear and Zubie can translate it for me so I can at least go to the mechanic already prepared for what the problem is.  Since I know nothing about cars, I hate the feeling that they can tell me anything and I would not know better.  I honestly like the User Profile screen the best as it shows me a quick shot of everything:  my Driving Score, Accerlation, Speeding, Hard Brakes and so forth.

The location would be great for parents who want to know where their kids are or if your car gets stolen.  I have tested out the location feature and it was accurate each time I used it.  The leaderboards would be great as well to compete against other family members to see who drives the best, you would need those other family members to have their own Zubie in their cars to compare.  Overall, I think there is definitely value in Zubie and for the $100 for the year I think its worth it.
