Save at Shell & the Great American Fuel Price Relief Tour in Chicago

When I first starting driving, gas was $0.85 per gallon, unfortunately that is no longer the case.  Well Shell and the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) are hoping to save Chicagoans some money with their Great American Fuel Price Relief Tour.  The Tour will invite attendees to visit the Fuel Rewards Network booth’s at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show to learn more about their free national rewards program that has already saved Americans more than $284 million dollars on fuel.  Attendees will also be able to try their luck on the Spin to Save wheel, with the chance to win up to 25 cents per gallon off, redeemable at participating Shell stations across the country.

To go even one step further on their pledge to save Americans $1 billion on fuel, Shell and FRN are offering more saving opportunities including half-priced weekday entrance tickets with the purchase of 10 gallons of Shell gas or more at participating Chicago stations.  Additionally Shell will be providing fuel prizes for the #FuelCAS Social Media Scavenger Hunt, giving away prizes throughout the event.

So what is exactly the Fuel Rewards Network?

The Fuel Rewards Network™ program is a free loyalty program that helps you save money on fuel. You’ll earn Fuel Rewards® savings for doing things you already do every day, and you can redeem your rewards at the pump to watch your price drop.

Some Ways to Earn:

• Shopping online – If you are going to buy something at BestBuy, JCPenny, Home Depot or one of the other 700 brand name merchants, you just head to the FRN website first.  After logging in, you click to shop thru their store list and you earn 5¢/gal or more for every $50 spent.

• Dining – Enroll in the free Dining Program and register up to six credit/debit cards. When you are dining out at restaurant (there are more than 10,000 participating locations) if it happens to be a FRN restaurant then you will automatically get the rewards when you use one of your registered cards.  You earn $0.10 off per gallon for every $50 spent.  Nothing extra to do!

• Groceries – Register your grocer’s rewards cards to your FRN account and you will automatically earn rewards when you buy certain products.  Just shop as you normally do and rewards will be credited.

• Link your Mastercard – you can earn points just for shopping or dining out at places you normally would (I was surprised to see how many stores and restaurants I frequent that are included!)

Signing up for Fuel Rewards Network is super easy and takes about a minute to register.  With so many different ways to earn rewards, you can be on your way to saving 0n gas (or even dining out) in no time!

Now if you are a Chicago resident (one of the more than 180,000 members locally) make sure to try to make it over to the Chicago Auto Show which starts this Saturday February 8th and runs through the 16th.  I wish I could make it down for the Spin to Save Wheel as that sounds pretty exciting!
