2014 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid {Car Review} #FordFusion

Disclosure:  I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

So honestly I had no clue what to expect from a “hybrid” car but I was definitely curious.  I mean a car that averages 47 MPG, that is amazing, right?  Right!  I drove areas around the 2014 Fusion SE Hybrid for a week and I barely used any gas, like maybe a forth of a tank.  So this is a 5-passenger sedan that uses both gas and electric.  What that means is that while your driving electric power will be used and gas kicks in for extra power or when needed, such as when passing or merging.

Some features I loved:

  • Can travel up to 85 MPH on electric power alone
  • Once again I want to add that this car has amazing fuel economy
  • When you brake you recharge your car battery automatically
  • Quiet engine – there were times I started the car and wasn’t even sure it was on.
  • Aerodynamic design
  • Tons of airbags inside
  • Easily customized display
  • Latch system for car seat installation
  • Comfortable seats (The fabric is actually designed to be eco-consious as its constructed from 100% postindustrial materials.)

This is the opening of the console from the picture above, where I feel like stuff could fly out of:

See the hump in the back of the trunk that cuts off some space:

In the trunk:

An outlet in the back seat!

I also made a video to show off the car:

Overall I found the 2014 Fusion SE Hybrid to be a very sleek ride and I loved the fuel economy it offered.  I wish my husband had this car when he was driving an hour to work each way, oh the money we could have saved on gas!  I get about 17 MPG on my minivan right now and feel like I am constantly filling up whereas with a Hybrid it switches between gas and electric for better usage.  It actually says that you will save about $6,000 in fuel costs over five years compare to other new vehicles.  The only issues I had was I didn’t like how the middle console by the dashboard was open at the bottom, I was afraid my phone or water bottle would roll out by my feet while I was driving and the trunk did loose some space due to the Lithium-Ion Battery being in it.  Now I was able to squeeze two booster seats and a car seat in the back but I wouldn’t three kids back there.  I think four people would be comfortable, five a little tight.  The trunk is not big either so that is something to keep in mind if you have to fit big things in there regularly.  For a single person or small family though this would be a perfect car to whip around town in.  The design is sleek, the ride is smooth and it won’t break your bank in weekly trips to the gas station.
