Keep Good Going Through Generations….

In my family we don't really have traditions that seem significant but rather we continue to do the same things each year which I guess counts as a tradition!  My family has passed down the tradition of spending time together regularly and honestly I couldn't imagine not being around my family for holidays, special occasions and just because.  I hope to instill some traditions and positive values with my own kids that they will hopefully continue to pass on.  

Keep Good Going is a campaign to encourage others to pass good onto those they care about.  Whether it be big or small, every little bit counts.  The Keep Good Going Lessons they are promoting are little nuggets of wisdom from various life experiences.  Sometimes the lessons are simple in meaning, but huge literally as they make a big impact.  

"My Grandfather" is a video that tells the story of a grandson connecting with his family heritage and roots inspired from lessons he learned from his Grandfather and how he is going to use those lessons through his life and the next generation.  It made me think of my great-grandmother who lived until 93 years old.  She lived through the Great Depression and when we moved her out of her house you'd swear she saved every single plastic container she ever had in her life.  I asked her why and she explained that she had so little growing up that she hated to waste and thrown things away.  It made me think of ways to re-use an push me to recycle everything I could.  My own kids now re-use and re-cycle even more so than me, which is great!
