My Honeymoon Mishap Moment #CystexBurningLove

Almost nine years ago now my husband and went on our honeymoon, which was a 7-day Caribbean cruise. Our first stop from Chicago was a hotel in Miami, which we stayed overnight so we could start off on our cruise stress-free the next day. Now we were young and in-love and nothing else seemed to matter but boy did we have an interesting arrival for our honeymoon.

The story starts with our hotel being changed last minute because Florida had really bad storms and the hotel we originally booked was pretty badly damaged. It was one night so it didn’t matter too much but then again it was the first night of our honeymoon so we wanted it to be special. We arrived at the hotel and the front desk said we didn’t have a reservation. This was before smartphones but luckily I had printed off our confirmation email and showed it to the desk clerk. She said she will see what she can do. We were trying not to let it bother us but after about an hour of going back and forth with her, she said they will still need more time. We had a long day of travel already and were exhausted and I just wanted to get into my room and clean myself up.

After just over two hours of waiting, we were finally given a room. We walked the long stretch of hallways to our room and inserted the key, it didn’t work. We walked all the way back to the front desk and were issued another key which we inserted into the room door only to find a family in there with the dad saying we are not the first guest to receive a key to his room! We went back to the front desk and were given another key. This key worked and I was happy until we looked up and saw mold all over the corner of the ceiling. No way could I sleep under mold. So back to the front desk we went. After complaining and explaining how terrible our honeymoon was starting off, we were given a new beautiful room. By that time we were so exhausted!

Our burning love wasn’t extinguished due to our hotel craziness and we had a great rest of the trip.
