New Way to Bank for Millennials in Chicago From Liberty Bank

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post from Liberty Bank.

A bank account with no minimum balances or monthly fees?  Sounds crazy nowadays as banks seem to live off consumer fees. Well Liberty Bank has decided to do something about it for the Millennial generation.  Consumers ages 18-34 years old (aka Millennials) can now bank easier and fee free at Liberty Bank for Savings here in Chicago.  The new all-digital account for Millennials replaces the traditional checking account with their Simple Debit PlusTM Visa®.  It is a Visa® debit card with FDIC insurance and ID theft resolution, along with no checks, minimum balances or monthly fees.

As a Millennial myself, I honestly bank online probably 90% of the time.  I only go to the bank when I have to make a deposit and even then its at the ATM.  I can’t even remember the last time I talked to a banker, which is sad but true.  As far as checks go, I probably write only a handful a year.

The Simple Debit PlusTM Visa® is the first-of-its kind debit card that accesses an array of largely free electronic services – bill pay, e-statements, person-to-person money transfers and 70,000 surcharge-free ATMs.  The card design features neighborhood landmarks.

Need an incentive to open the account?

Those who open the account with a minimum $25 deposit, receive a bonus of $50! There is an additional bonus of $50 deposited in the accounts that post a recurring electronic credit of $100 or more within 60 days after opening.  If you pick the Pickwick Theatre as the card design you will get a $100 bonus worth of tickets for admission to the iconic Park Ridge landmark movie house.

Accoding to Kevin Tynan, Liberty’s Senior Vice President for Marketing, “Millennials are critically important to the future of banking.”  Most of the Millennials banking is done online and in seven years their collective income will exceed Gen X’ers and Baby Boomers combined.  With Millennials also seeking financial advice, the bank will conduct a series of money management seminars.  Money management and financial articles posted at www.libertybank.com can be accessed from smart phones.

So Why Choose the Liberty Bank Simple Debit PlusTM Visa®?

  • Conveinence of banking from anywhere on a smart phone
  • Text messages and email alerts to monitor account activity and balances
  • Once you reach your limit, the user can’t spend more (perfect for college allowances!)
  • Miniumum deposit of only $25
  • No minimum balance or monthly fee
  • Locally owned bank in Chicagoland with 6 branches in the area
  • Cutting edge banking technology

In addition to the Park Ridge branch, at 1018 Touhy, Park Ridge, bank offices include three on the northwest side of Chicago at 2392 Milwaukee Avenue, 7111 Foster Avenue, and 6210 N. Milwaukee Avenue, and one in Lincolnwood at 6666 N. Lincoln Avenue.
