Traveling With Help From My Atlantic Solstice 28” Spinner {Review}

Disclosure:  I received the product below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

The first time I traveled on a plane I remember being so excited about my suitcase.  It was a simple blue suitcase that was got pretty beat up going through the airport check-in and it only rolled forward. Suitcases have definitely come a long way since that simple and small blue suitcase I had.

Whether I am traveling by myself for a long trip or traveling with my family, I have been looking for a dependable suitcase.  Since a suitcase is something that will take abuse unfortunately, I also need one that is sturdy yet lightweight.

The Atlantic Solstice 28” Spinner is a suitcase that answered all my needs.  It even has features I didn’t know I needed until I realized they were an option.

Features:

  • 100% Polypropylene shell material for lightweight durability
  • Whisper quiet dual wheel spinner system
  • Airline-grade aluminum handle that locks in 2 different height positions
  • Expandable to give you more room for packing
  • Ergonomic high-strength zipper pulls
  • Integrated TSA lock for added security
  • Low profile top and side carry handles
  • Interior zippered divider panel with two built-in zip pockets, side accessory pocket and adjustable hold down straps
  • 10 year limited warranty
  • Available in four bright and fun colors

I cannot say enough on how much I love this suitcase.  First there is the bright pink color, it makes it so much easier to spot it at baggage claim.  Then there is the hugeness of it, if that is even a word.  I was worried that it would be too heavy because of its massive size, but its lightweight at just about 10 lbs.  The wheels on it are so much nicer than those old suitcase wheels that only rolled forward, these wheels spin around meaning they can roll 360 degrees.  I didn’t think this would matter but its awesome to be able to roll it while upright, rather than just dragging it behind me.

The inside surprised me as well.  The gray lining makes it easy to see whats inside, usually luggage lining is black and hides my items.  There is actual pockets inside that make it easy to store certain items to stay organized, again this is something that I never thought about but love.  I used this to separate out my kids clothes from mine.

The only thing I miss is having an outside pocket which this doesn’t since its a hardside suitcase, but I really do love the durability of it being hardsided.  I took this suitcase with us to Florida and it came off the baggage claim looking new still!

Finally there is the TSA lock for added security, which I honestly didn’t use but love that its included.  I used to lock my suitcase but after they passed the extra baggage security requirements from 9/11, I stopped locking it.  I never store anything valuable in my suitcase anyways so I am not really worried about it.  The lock is easy enough to use though.

Overall, this suitcase has sold me on Atlantic Luggage.  I wouldn’t change anything about it and I am going to be picking up the other sizes available so I have a complete set of them.  Even my husband was jealous of my new suitcase and wanted to pull it through the airport over our old ones.

BUY IT:  Check out the Atlantic Solstice 28” Spinner from Atlantic at a suggested retail price of $300 but currently on sale for $127.49.

  • hi, new luggage is something we never find the money for, yet need it terribly. thank you for a great review and love the colors.

  • this is really nice we don't travel much but if I did this would be something for me

  • Wow! Talk about great features! You've absolutely sold me. I honestly don't travel as often as I did, pre-9/11. These days, we usually drive, so we're not going very far.
I can hardly believe how spacious this luggage is & love the ease of organizing. I hate to say, I'm getting older and I would much rather use a bag like this! All the colors are great, but I do like your pink one and the purple one. Definitely stand-out colors.
    Thanks for the review!

  • Well if that isn't the neatest thing I don't even have travel plans and I want the purple one LOL I Love that they roll 360 degrees also and the lighter colored liner

  • I would love to have one of these, I think it's awesome that it's durable and lightweight. This would be great for my next trip.

  • I love the feature of having a whisper quiet dual wheel spinner system. It is also durable and expands.

  • The worst part of traveling is carting around hard to carry or wheel luggage. Also trying to recognize your "black" luggage amongst all the other black ones. The pink one here looks amazing. Wish it were a giveaway.
