Warm weather in Chicago is something we do not take for granted and when the sun is out we have to take advantage of it. With the warmer weather though brings dangerous UV rays that I need to protect my kids from. Since I have enough to do as a mom of three, I look for products that are effective, convenient and from brands I trust.

Did you know that you should apply 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of sunscreen to your kids’ entire bodies 30 minutes before going outside and then reapply every two hours or immediately after swimming or excessive sweating? Oh and of course you don’t want to forget about yourself, which us moms often do neglect!

Well Banana Boat® has three products that I got to try out with my family that are perfect for keeping skin protected:

SunComfort™ Clear UltraMist^® Sunscreen – is the perfect product for on-the-go. You just spray it on and it works into your child’s skin. This new formula even allows sand to easily brush off as well as it moisturizes to relieve dryness caused by sun, chlorine and salt water. I love this spray because my kids are always moving and trying to apply a cream sunscreen to them isn’t always the easiest. I like the spray too for when we go places like a waterpark or zoo where I need to reapply to us as I don’t have to worry about it leaking in my bag.

Dry Oil Clear UltraMist^® Sunscreen – has been reformulated by Banana Boat® to now include argan oil. It is a lightweight dry oil formula that you can rub into skin for more than just sun protection. It moisturizes skin so its silky-smooth without a light-weight, non-greasy feel.

Sport Performance^® LotionSunscreen with Powerstay Technology™ – It is a cream that rubs in white and I tend to use this on my kids faces or when I don’t have the UltraMist Sunscreen with me. It is hard for me to rub this into my kids when they are moving so I tend not to use it as much.  I do like though that this is specifically designed for those that are really active or doing activities that they won’t have time to re-apply right away. It is light-weight, sweat resistant, water resistant and lasts up to 80 minutes. It is quick absorbing and non-greasy and best of all, it won’t rub into eyes! It features Powerstay Technology that locks into place and boosts staying power for heavy duty protection.

We have lots planned this summer and I already tucked these Banana Boat® products in our pool bag that I keep in the car.  Now I just have to hope for some nice weather to stick around as we have rain in our forecast!
