It doesn't work that well but we have been putting cayenne pepper to kills ants!
we use alot of spray for around the house !
I spray my house every 3 months for bugts

We have an ant problem that we need to leave bait traps inside and sprinkle dust outside. Seems to work

We live in the middle of a dry river bed. Attracts every bug known to man. I have lots of Citronella plants around the house and make sure to keep house clean and food put away.
Good question--last week, I suddenly had fruit flies. I guess they came in on some bananas I bought and left on the counter. So I made one of the DIY traps from a water bottle, They are gone now. For regular bugs, I keep the sink dry and the doors sealed.
