Pumpkin ping-pong

All you need to play this game are tennis balls, a cardboard box, colored paper, scissors, glue and some free time to prepare. Together with your child build this homemade carnival game, and all of your guests will be unable to resist the temptation to play, both children and adults!

How to play? Set different points for successfully throwing into each of the pumpkin’s mouths. Define the optimal distance to the pumpkin-machine. Give each player three balls.

Play and do the math! The winner is the one who scores the most points!

Puzzle-balls

This game is perfect for a Halloween party. Inflate black and orange balloons and hang them from the ceiling. Write simple math puzzles on pieces of paper, hide them inside each balloon, and then start playing!

First of all, divide the players into two teams: one team should pop the black balloons while the other team — the orange balloons. Once you see that there are no balloons left in the house, you can start with the next step – solving the puzzles against the clock. The team that solves all the problems the quickest is declared the winner and gets their deserved prize – box of candies!

A number-web

Don’t worry, you won’t need to walk on the ceiling. The spider web will be made on the floor with the help of a colored tape. Place the numbers at the intersections of the lines. Avoid putting numbers in order adjacent to one another, instead place them randomly around the web. The goal of the game is for the child to collect the numbers in the correct order from smallest to greatest, while balancing on the lines.

Alternatively, you can change the rules and ask the children to collect the numbers in order by skip counting by twos, threes, fives, etc.

Candy statistics

The best part of Halloween is definitely counting all of the candy each child has collected from Trick-orTreating! Kids of all ages love to compare the quantity and different kinds of candy they each got. And often serious trading negotiations take place.

Challenge your children to find additional ways to compare their candy. Together with your children, sort the candy into different types, tally them off in each category, count and compare.

Line up all of the wrapped candy on the floor and measure the length of the line with a measuring stick or ruler.

Collect all of the candy and weigh it on a kitchen scale.
