Get a Haircut on November 11th, Give a Haircut to a Veteran

I received compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Haircuts are something that are easily taken for granted. I mean your hair gets too long, you cut it, right? A hair cut is pretty cheap so most people can afford it, but the truth is not everyone can afford a haircut. Families who have a limited budget to begin with, a haircut is not going to be a top priority. Haircuts for a family can really add up – families can easily spend a $100 a year which is $100 not going towards groceries or rent.

To help underprivileged community members of all ages, Hair Cuttery launched the Share-A-Haircut program. Originally the Share-A-Haircut program was launched to help underprivileged children in the community but has since expanded to all ages. For its 16th year, Hair Cuttery is determined to donate 25,000 free haircut certificates to veterans. To date, the Share-A-Haircut program has reached more than one million children and more than 230,000 homeless, veterans and victims of domestic violence, with haircut certificate donations, valued at more than $23.8 million.

This Veterans Day, Tuesday November 11th, for every adult haircut purchased a free haircut certificate will be donated back to a veteran in need, right there in communities local to Hair Cuttery’s almost 900 locations. Local veterans’ organizations then will reach those veterans in need to distribute the haircut certificates. Something so simple as a haircut can make all the difference to someone who really needs it.

I think it is amazing that Hair Cuttery is stepping up to help veterans by offering haircuts just by others getting haircuts. They are not asking for anything other than consumers to come in and get their own haircuts as they normally would.

Find you closest Hair Cuttery and get your family ready for the holidays while helping a veteran in need.

  • What a great idea! There aren't any Hair Cutterys near us, but I'm proud of what they're doing for those who have already sacrificed so much for our freedoms!

  • This is an awesome initiative to help support our troops! Something as simple as a haircut can really make a difference in people's lives. I'm with a company that actually does a similar thing but with yummy, healthy snack bars and with every bar we sell, we send a lifesaving packet of food to a child in need. Check us out!
