I can’t remember how old I was when my dad brought home Scooby but all three of my kids have grown up with him. He has been their protector and playmate ever since my oldest was born. He has withstood their cries, tail pulls and short ball throws.

While we can’t have a dog at our home full-time, my kids consider Scooby their own especially since we visit with my mom so much. So when we are out, my kids like to pick up treats, toys and food for Scooby to bring with us on our next visit.

I grabbed a 4lb. bag of Grain Free Real Chicken dog food. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with chicken flavor and liked how it emphasized “Real Chicken.” It makes me wonder now too when things don’t say “Real” what they actually are! The Grain Free appealed to me as well because as Scooby is getting older, I worry about his digestion. I know for humans, as we get older, things start working differently and I figured dogs are similar.

As soon as I opened up Nature’s Recipe for Scooby, he smelled it from across the room. He is always excited when we come because he knows we usually bring something for him, or he just gets to play with his little buddies.

Well I poured some of this new food in his dog bowl and he chowed it down. The smell first attracted him and the flavor was obviously a hit. I like that this is a more wholesome dog food and the flavor combination I grabbed was different. I mean chicken, sweet potato and pumpkin even sounds good to me, well in human food it does.

I only grabbed a 4lb. bag just in case, but with it being a hit I know it won’t be the last time I buy it. My mom even made sure to make a note so she can buy it while shopping at Walmart.
