Lake District National Park is a popular holiday getaway for a lot of families. It’s located in northwest England, and is famous for its forests, mountains, and lakes. It has been recently awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2017 due its natural beauty and the local efforts in preserving the area. If you’re planning to treat your family to a trip to Lake District, take note of the following tips to make your vacation memorable:

  • Plan your visit

As with any vacation, plan your visit wisely. Especially for first-time visitors, it’s crucial to at least research about the place before bringing your family. It is recommended to book a tour so you can easily get access to the best sceneries in England. The entire park is more than 2,000 square kilometers wide, you wouldn’t want to get lost along the way!

  • Decide where to stay

There are numerous holiday cottages you can rent around Lake District. Because weather is unpredictable on this side of Cumbria, it’s best to book a place where you can cuddle with your family. There are many hotels in the area, as well as vacation rentals that you can check out. The place is brimming with culture and historic architecture. Most of the houses you’ll see is reminiscent of the 18th century.

  • Check for things to do

One day isn’t enough to fully enjoy what Lake District has to offer. It’s jam-packed with family friendly activities that you’re sure to enjoy. Visit The World of Beatrix Potter and immerse yourselves in an interactive recreation of all 23 of her magical tales. If your kids like mystery and adventure, call them on in Bowness on Windermere Treasure Trail. Explore the place while actively searching for the hidden treasure as you complete the trail. If you’re looking for more exhilarating activities, rent a bike or go canoeing or kayaking. There are guided tours everywhere that will happily show you around the place.

  • Look up places to go

From mountains, to valleys, to towns, and lakes, there’s never a shortage of places to marvel at when you’re at Lake District. It’s filled with stunning views and various activities from land to water. It’s a great place to treat your family to and has the perfect atmosphere to rest and relax.
