My 10 year old has loved construction trucks ever since I can remember. He has never stopped loving those yellow trucks since he started and of course when he grows up he wants to be a construction worker. While I can’t really let him go around driving construction equipment at random job sites, I knew Diggerland USA was the place to go.

We drove about 14 hours from Chicago to West Berlin, New Jersey (about 30 minutes from Philadelphia) where Diggerland is. Was it worth the 14-hour drive? YES! My whole family had an amazing time at Diggerland and I have never seen my oldest son happier. After a summer recovering from heart surgery, I knew he deserved his dream trip! Even my daughter and other son though had an amazing time and they are not as GaGa over construction trucks like my oldest is.

Diggerland USA is the only construction themed adventure park in North America where kids (and parents) can actually drive, ride and operate ACTUAL machinery. The park spans 14 acres with its 25+ attractions. Yes the machines are real, full-sized construction equipment but don’t worry the park is extremely safe. Each machine has undergone advanced engineering modifications to allow kids as small as 36 inches to operate with little to no instruction! Oh and the park is family owned and operated

I admit I was skeptical over how a theme park would allow kids to drive but believe me when I say I felt very comfortable with their safety standards. The machines didn’t go very fast and all had trained workers nearby. Oh and notice there are no tracks either, kids are actually driving!

There are other rides too!

My kids loved as well the ropes course which is one of the world’s tallest ropes courses and the rock wall. I admit I couldn’t do it but my 6-year-old daughter and sons had no problem!

So who is Diggerland for?

Honestly anyone! I would say though you’d want your child to be at least 36 inches that way they can ride most of the rides. There is no maximum height either as adults can ride! Adults who want even more action can even head to DiggerlandXL next door for bigger fun.

There is truly a ride for everyone at Diggerland and if your kids are like mine they won’t be able to get enough. While you could do pretty much everything once in about 5 hours at Diggerland (obviously depending on how busy they are) we ended up opening and closing the park.

I will say too that we went in August which is an extrememly hot month but fortunately for us, Diggerland has misting fans all over that cooled us nicely.

I never thought there would be a theme park like Diggerland USA and it has exceeded my family’s expectations.
