The learning landscape evolves and looks completely different today than it was only a few years ago. Lots of today’s learners prefer to take advantage of services that they can find on the internet, for example on such educational portals as https://termpaperhelp/writing-service and other websites that offer opportunities for online learning. They want content to be personalized, short, and more suitable to their learning goals. Let’s take a look at the most important technology-enabled learning trends you should know about and that will have a great impact on the learning ecosystem.
Microlearning provides a structure to personalize learning content for every learner and deliver it in digestible sizes. Such content is short, relevant, focused, contextualized, and with regular challenges. Learners are provided with tiny bites of learning material that can be interactive podcasts, videos, quizzes etc. They are very short, about two or three minutes max. This type of learning is gaining global popularity and we can see this approach in different learning apps such as Duolingo when the model grows with the learner.
Currently, 70% of learners get access to learning content using their mobile devices. Very often they use different devices and switch from one to another depending on their needs or location. Modern people want to learn on their own devices, choosing their own time, and on the move. 27% of learners learn on their way to and from work. Mobile learning is rising in popularity and it is one of the top priorities for companies that are going to spend over 37 billion dollars by 2020 to deliver information to their employees via mobile devices. Corporations try to find solutions that blend traditional learning with modern and ensure personalized learning experiences. They use just-in-time learning methods and deliver information through contemporary mobile applications.
The use of video content is constantly increasing and it makes up 64% of mobile internet traffic. By 2021, video will account for 82% of all consumer internet traffic globally. Live video has become a priority on Facebook and it is becoming the most shareable content. People prefer to watch educational material than read a simple text with explanations. YouTube has become a great platform for how-to learning.
Gamification is not a new approach but it is a proven strategy for learners’ engagement. It is often included as a useful component of digital learning strategies. Many applications are based on gamification techniques. For example, IQ and memory testing apps include learning games and gamification elements like leaderboards, badges, and status symbols. Gamification elements make the process of learning engaging, exciting, and effective. Playing games makes learning a pleasure and encourages people to learn more.
Augmented learning is a growing trend and it provides learners with an absolutely new dimension of content delivery. It amplifiers learners’ senses, using the power of mobile devices and ensures customizable and rich learning activities. AR virtually takes learners into another dimension. AR creates an immersive experience that appeals to learners at physical, intellectual, and emotional levels.

Yes, these are totally the trends and figures we see. We've developed an interactive video tool and we see the same trends in the market. Currently, it's not even educational institutions adopting video learning. This has to do with budgets and executive priorities. Right now, video learning is rapidly increasing in corporate industries. They have budgets to create instructional and onboarding video's and those are cheaper than hiring speakers and educators. Plus, videos are multifunctional when interactive, by adding quizzing, storytelling etc.
Gamification is also a hot trend nowadays. We combine video learning and gamification in order to achieve a maximal engagement level. This combination is proven to work. Great article.
