I received product/compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
We have lived in our house for nine years now and honestly, I have never carried a house key with me. Yes there have been times where I could have used it but I am just not a key person. I have my car keys and that’s it. How do I get into my house then? Well, I have a button in my car that opens my overhead garage door and I have a keypad installed to open the garage door if I’m not in my car. Convenient, right?
Well, sometimes I need to run into my front door for something or I want to give a neighbor a spare key because our garage door doesn’t always cooperate. Well thanks to Yale, I have been able to lose my keys for good!
The Yale Assure Lock SL is a touchscreen deadbolt that allows homeowners the convenience of 100% key free unlocking and locking! Its sleek and modern design too means it adds curb appeal to your house rather than being an eye sore.
Users just need to enter a 4-8 digit pin code on the keypad and click a checkmark – seriously couldn’t be an easier! To lock the door you just tap on the keypad and you can hear the lock locking.
Want to give out keys to friends and family or even someone temporarily? You can create up to 25 unique codes to share and then easily delete them if you want to take access away from anyone. I really like this for my keys actually because I have never given them our garage door code because I fear they would tell everyone. Now if they tell someone our front door code, I can easily delete that and change it for them without having to change the code for everyone else. This is great too if you have someone housesitting or a neighbor because there is no chance they will make a duplicate of your house key. I know I watch too many movies and shows where people break into houses and I am always nervous about that.
Another awesome feature of having a Yale touchscreen deadbolt is the ability to connect it to a home automation system. With the help of the Samsung SmartThings hub and app, I am now able to lock/unlock remotely and even see when my door was open and closed. Great for seeing when someone comes home in your house if they use the front door. The app even tells you the battery life since they Yale is controlled by 9-volt battery.
My husband and 9-year-old had our new deadbolt installed in about twenty minutes. The hardest part was just connecting everything to our network and sync, which was very easy to follow. You can use this lock without a smart hub. We actually have a Yale lock on another entry door in our house from a few years ago and have never had a smart hub until now for it. The convenience of the key code alone was what appealed to us.
Honestly, I love our Yale Assure Lock. Even without home automation (smart hub) it is a great lock that looks good and offers the key-free convenience I want, then you add the ability to connect with home automation and it opens up a whole new world of options.

thanks for the information i need this
What a great idea!
This looks so handy and like something that I could use. My hesitation would be if it is easy enough to install and use so it is great that it only took 20 minutes.
