So there are some movies that I want to watch with my husband and some movies that are better with my girlfriends. I look at it too that my husband won’t appreciate a movie so why waste his time watching it. Forever My Girl is a movie that is perfect for a Girls Night In, whether you are watching it with a few girlfriends or alone.
The movie Forever My Girl is based off the book of the New York Times and USA Today best-selling five book series – The Beaumont, by Heidi McLaughlin. The story is about a male country music superstar who is torn between his career and his one true love. Liam Page (Roe) leaves his fiance at the altar to follow his dream of fame and fortune. There is the saying that “Money can’t buy happiness” and that is the case with this character. He realizes he has never gotten over his one true love and he has not forgotten his Southern roots. Returning home is not going to be easy though as he didn’t leave on good terms.
The movie is full of original songs from country music mega-producer Brett Boyett (TV’s “Nashville,” “Friday Night Lights”). While I am not a big country music lover, I did love all the music and wholesomeness of the songs. I also don’t usually watch ‘sappy’ movies but this movie reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Sweet Home Alabama. What I love about this movie is it has the male leaving and realizing he made a mistake. It is a story about love, forgiveness and growing up.
I hosted my own girls night in this past weekend and am glad I gave this movie a shot. It was a great movie to unwind to.
