Indian Garlic Naan Inspired by “PUP STAR: WORLD STAR” @airbudofficial @pupstarmovie

I received product/compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

“PUP STAR: WORLD STAR” is the newest title in the AirBud PUP STAR series and it has gone global! The pups each welcome their favorite contestant from around the world to the Pup Star pack and train them to compete for the new title of global pup star champion.

India’s Raji joins Team Growl, China’s Ming joins Team Paw-Paw, Nigeria’s Mobo joins Team Gnarley, and Mexico’s dashing telenovela star Julio joins Team Tiny.

To celebrate the global adventures, I have a great recipe to share from one of the countries – India to be exact. What meal would be complete without Naan, so I made Indian Garlic Naan!

Indian Garlic Naan

Yield approx. 8 pieces

Cook time: 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast (or one package)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups of flour plus a few for tablespoons for workspace

Directions:

Combine warm water, sugar and yeast in large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Add salt and flour. Mix.

Knead dough on a floured workspace about 20 times and form into a tight ball.

Put dough in a well-oiled bowl and cover with a damp towel.

Place bowl of covered dough in a warm place to rise for 30-45 minutes. Dough won’t rise much, but it doesn’t need to.

Turn dough out onto floured workspace and divide into 8 pieces. Roll out with a rolling pin to about 1/8″ thick.

Grill dough pieces on a grill or electric griddle. In a pinch, a frying pan sprayed with some nonstick cooking spray will work. Grill for 1-2 minutes on each side.

Now I am by no means a cooking expert but I do like easy recipes and this one is definitely easy. There are just a few ingredients and while there may seem like a lot of steps – they are easy ones. I did think it was strange that it has Garlic in the title but no garlic in the recipe but I did pair it up with some garlic hummus. It was a perfect snack and everyone in my family enjoyed it, even my picky kids! The recipe was perfect to inspire some cultural food tastes to my family and get us excited for the new PUP STAR movie!
