4 Tips to Dealing with a Calendar-Filled Month

Half a year goes by, and you might not notice anything out of the ordinary. Your children have gone to school, you’ve been working adequately at your job, and life seems to move by without much in the way of worries. This can be thoroughly comforting. But then, out of nowhere, a period of peace comes crashing down. You look at the calendar for the upcoming month. At the time of this writing, that would be in May.

You notice three birthdays for your own children. Why they had to be born all within four days of each other, even on separate years, is beyond you. It now seems like some secret conspiracy developed in the womb. But not only that, your neighbor is now throwing a summer party to welcome the warm weather. It’s also your anniversary. On top of that, your parents are coming to visit after their long trip around Australia.

Of course, what your month looks like could be much different to see. But you’d probably agree, the milestones in life often come through at breakneck pace. You wait all day for a bus at the proverbial station, and then three come along all at once.

Stop Adding More

If you have a busy and planned month, it’s important to stop adding more dates to the calendar. It might be that a friend wishes you to go for coffee, and perhaps you have time for that, but a friend’s bake sale? Perhaps it’s best to politely decline it for now, and tell them the reason why. It might be that you can invite them along to whatever event you’re attending, but for the most part, if you’re already stretched thin, the worst you can do is stretch further.

Plan Ahead Of Time

It might be that if you have a couple of weeks before the date starts arriving, you can put plans in place. Perhaps you might wish to arrange for a babysitter or for your parents to look after your child. You’ve already booked the implements for your child’s birthday on the following day, and perhaps you have a plan B just in case. It might be that you need a lift because your car is going to the mechanics for yearly servicing, and in this case budgeting for an Uber ride around the city could be important. Planning ahead of time can help you avoid realizing the need for a certain helpful convenience on the day it would be best suited, leaving you anything other than high and dry.

Consider Your Finances

A month with many requirements of your schedule is often one in which you’ll need to spend plenty of money. Birthday parties are often associated with gifts, and if you’re running that party, that’s even more money. Your anniversary might also require a gift and a nice evening out, or perhaps your child’s school trip requires payment up front. Considering your finances ahead of time can be a good option. It might be that you offset that budget in other areas of your life this month. But sometimes, it can be worthwhile to simply have all you need by your side, so you needn’t feel terrified of running out before all your engagements are completed. Thankfully, you can do this with the use of installment loans for bad credit especially, as then you can pay off the loan when money is a little less tight.

Look After Yourself

When you’re running around for everyone, the last person you often think of is yourself. But the thing is, exhaustion can be a real problem, and before the month is out can make you feel completely exhausted and annoyed with everything taking place around you. That’s not how you want to experience this, we’re sure. It’s nice to build good memories, and actually want to make the most of these events.

First, your mindset might need to change. Sure you have plenty booked in this set of weeks, but that doesn’t mean it’s some harsh punishment you have to live through. Perhaps it’s a beautiful thing, and the summer can help you connect with your family more than ever. Look at it that way. Next, be sure to sleep enough each night. Be sure to hydrate and eat well. And, if necessary, or if coming down with an illness, never be afraid to cancel or postpone. Remember, a missed event you can deal with, putting terrible wear and tear on your body is harder to shake off.
