Even though my three kids range in various ages and both boys and a girl, they have all loved Dora the Explorer. I have watched numerous hours of Dora and her magical backpack and friends as well as owned many branded books and toys. Now that my kids are ages 7 and up, they really don’t watch Dora anymore.
When I heard there was a Dora the Explorer movie coming out I immediately thought it would be dumb. I thought it would be animated and honestly we are past the silly songs of Dora and her friends. Well I will say I am probably more excited than my kids to watch “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” as it reminds me of Jumanji and other adventure movies but kid friendly. It looks like a perfect movie for all ages but especially those who grew up with Dora and have moved on.
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
