5 Must-Haves for Outdoor Kids Party

Kids are only kids for a short period of time and before parents know it, their babies who depend on them a hundred percent, have already grown into fine adults, capable of fending for themselves. Hence the saying “the days may be long, but the years are short.” So while the kids are still young, parents make an effort to make every moment memorable for them. These moments can be learning milestones, birthdays, travels, or simple day-to-day activities like playing in the park, which all calls for a celebration.

Making childhood memories do not need to be expensive. In fact, there is always something to remember in every season, which do not involve spending a penny, like making snow angels during winter, blowing dandelions during spring, swimming in the beach during summer, and going to the first day of school in the fall. What is important is to fill the child’s love cup full with memories to cherish as he or she grows older. Thus, there will always be a reason to celebrate, and what is better than an open-air festivity?

Different parents have various takes on throwing off parties for their little ones. More often than not, they are usually hesitant to throw off outdoor parties for their children because of the expenses that come with it. But on the contrary, outdoor celebrations do not need to be lavish to be fun! In fact, you can work out with whatever budget you may have. But if you are thinking of organizing an outdoor party to celebrate your child’s birthday or any epic milestone, or just because the sun is out, make sure to have these 5 essentials.

1.       Food. Yes, the first thing that comes to mind in any event or occasion is food. Barbeques and burgers are always a hit on the outdoors for kids and adults alike, especially during the summer. Fruits, vegetables, and salads can also definitely add color and variety to your platter, to cater to the different palate and tastes of the guests. And of course, who will resist a sweet ending? A party will never be complete without sweets and ice cream. If you are celebrating a birthday party, have a cake or cupcakes will do because it is easier to share mini cakes among the kids. With the heat of the sun, it is a good idea to keep your guests refreshed with lots of water and fresh fruit juices, but it is also not bad to try and offer smoothies! Check out this Breville multi-speed juicer review.

2.       Music. No you don’t have to spend a penny, you just need to blast your speakers. As it is fondly said, your guests should be able to “move to the groove”. Allow them to dance to their heart’s content, especially the kids of course. Play music that are familiar to the kids to encourage them to sing and move and loosen up. Music will definitely add life to your party and set the mood, so since you are outdoors, go on a hit the volume.

3.       Games and Prizes. For sure games should be part of your program, with prizes too! Check out amazing finds from the Outdoor Play store because you can use some bounce houses or swing sets for your games. Jumping on trampolines, sliding on giant inflatable slides, playing with bubbles and a treasure hunt, are some of the games that are always a hit. Eating contests, as well as water balloons and water guns also top the charts in the most fun outdoor games. There are also more organized games like musical chairs or relays. Oh and you can recycle and help the environment in making other props for the games too and the prizes can be upcycled things as well.

4.       Goodie Bags. Since it will be a party for the kids, then yes, having loot bags for them to take home and remember the fun they had in the party is a must. And again, what is inside these goodie bags do not need to be expensive and empty out your pockets. On the contrary, you can put in things like art materials or repurposed toys or even the bubble bottles you used in the party. Just make sure that the loot bags are enough for everyone. You do not really want to hear those upset cries.

5.       Theme and Decorations. Liven up the party with a theme and decorations to enhance that theme. Try out a luau and encourage your guests to come in grass skirts. Make necklaces out of flower petals and hand these out to your guests to showcase your party theme. You can also throw a pool party and ask everyone to come in their swimming attire then cheer them to take a dip. Water balloons and pool noodles should do the trick for your decorations. There are other party themes that will sure be a hit for the little ones like a colorful outdoor fiesta or a minimalistic garden tea party. Be sure to ask the little ones their preferences to make your party an event to remember.

It is best to organize an outdoor party during summer to beat the heat and bask in the sun. But it is also not a bad idea to hold an outdoor celebration during spring when the sun is out. Throwing an outdoor party during the fall or winter season is definitely challenging, and even discouraged, which is why the essentials enumerated above are suitable during fine weather under the sun.

Nonetheless, being outdoors is fun! Pediatric psychologists actually encourage parents to bring their kids outside and take part in outdoor play. Kids playing with other kids in the outdoors does many wonders. Some children are calmed down by being outdoors while for other children, being outdoors aids their healing from various illnesses. Additionally, children will learn the value of playing with each other and sorting out their differences, or taking care of their surroundings if they are allowed to play outside. Apart from the fun memories, children will carry the values instilled in them through outdoor play.
