Getting an Academic Evaluation at Huntington Learning Center

I received product/compensation in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Being the youngest in the family means you sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I don’t always have the time to help her with her homework or reading because I am helping her older brothers and chauffeuring everyone to their various activities. As far as school goes too, our district doesn’t give actual grades until 6th grade, until then it is (I) for Independent, (S) for with support and (N) for not yet evident. I got updates from her teacher throughout the year but they didn’t really give a clear picture of her academically. In order to alleviate the academic concerns for my youngest sibling, I decided to seek professional assistance. After thorough research, I came across EssayHub, a reputable essay writing service that also offers assignment help and professionally will write essay for me

Since summer is a slow time for us I figured it was a great time for me to have my daughter evaluated. I was able to schedule an academic evaluation through Huntington Learning Center so I could get a clear picture of her academic strengths and weaknesses.

The academic evaluation through Huntington Learning Center took my daughter just under 3 hours. It was a combination of verbal, written and computer problems.

I was worried my daughter would not be able to handle a 3-hour test but she said she actually liked it. Being that the test was not 3-hours straight on a computer or written was helpful and a great way to test kids. She also did end up having one reading section left which the teacher let her finish the next day while I was getting the results of her academic evaluation.

After the test, her results were tallied up and I was able to visit the next day to meet with the teacher.

So what was the outcome of the Huntington Learning Center Academic Evaluation?

I visited with the director at the center for about 45 minutes and she went over the test results and what the Huntington Learning Center offers.

The test results surprised me somewhat but then other parts I could definitely see with her. The results gave a suggested amount of hours that she could benefit from and what areas they would be in.

The results were handed to me in a nice binder with all the information on the tests and answers to questions I might have.

What does Huntington Learning Center actually do?

For more than 40 years, Huntington Learning Center has offered dozens of tutoring programs for children grade K through 12 —including reading, writing, math, study skills, spelling, phonics, ADHD, Common Core, and test prep for ACT and SAT to name a few. Their mission is to give every student the best education possible and realize “I can” when it comes to school success.

The way Huntington Learning Center works is my daughter would show up for a recommended two hours a day twice a week to work on her level of work. She could show up more often which many kids do in the summer especially but 4 hours of week is recommended to keep her progress going smoothly. Her testing showed that she was able to work in a group setting which could be up to 4 kids as opposed to private tutoring. She would not be working with a group of kids but rather in a group setting and if she had a question on her work, a teacher was able to help.

What I was really surprised at is there is no contract. As far as payment goes, Huntington Learning Center actually offers affordable options. There is a financing option with 0% interest for a certain amount of months as well as a discount for pre-paying for the total amount of hours. You can also pay as you go.

Honestly I see value in Huntington Learning Center and I like that they don’t want to keep my daughter forever in their program. The teacher told me they want to catch my daughter up on all her skills and then some and then don’t want to see her back until ACT time! I feel like some places want to keep your child forever and there is no end in sight as far as billing goes. The test showed the amount of hours my daughter would need to succeed in her levels and how much it will cost me.
