What Really Makes for a Happy Pooch

Having a dog does many great things for the family home. For one, it encourages a certain healthy lifestyle which is absolutely beneficial if you are going to have a healthy family. It also means that there is a lot of companionship in the household, something which your children are bound to be glad for. And they are fun, which is no bad thing in itself. But if you are keen to have a dog, you will need to know how you are going to keep them happy. Let’s look at some of the basics of that, so that you can be as clear on it as possible.

Love & Attention

Above all, what a dog really wants is plenty of love and attention. If you can make a point of giving them that, you are going to find that it really makes a huge difference to how happy they are. There are many ways in which you might be able to do this. It could be a case of ensuring that you give them lots of cuddles and so on, or it might just be more about having a happy and loving atmosphere in the home. Either way, it’s important, and it’s something every dog needs.

Treats

All dogs deserve treats, and you are going to have to make sure that you are providing your dog with treats if you want to really look after them well. For them to be perfectly happy, you should aim to have as much of a variety of treats as possible, so that they are going to really enjoy it all the more. If you look at https://healthy-chews.com/products/ you will see that there are plenty to choose from, so it wouldn’t be too hard a decision overall. Giving them treats is absolutely essential, so don’t overlook it.

Outdoor Time

As well as ensuring that they get lots of exercises, ensuring that they get outside is also important for other reasons, not least the fact that the fresh air is bound to do them some good. With enough outdoor time, your pooch is going to be a lot happier, and you will find that this is something that you can do as a family too if you really want to make it into a good bonding thing. Take them for walks, spend time in the garden, and it should be a much happier dog indeed. See https://www.dogingtonpost.com/ways-make-your-dog-happy-for-life/ for more.

Sleep

Sleep is as important to your dog as it is to you. Without sleep, you probably get cranky and unhappy – well, the same is true for your pooch, so make sure that they are getting plenty of it every day. That means providing them with a comfortable place to sleep, and ensuring that the house is quiet enough for that to happen. But be wary of them sleeping too much, as that can be a sign of an unhappy dog. As ever, a good balance is what we are really looking for here.
