6 Ways to Give Your Home a Makeover

Spring is (almost) in the air, and you are probably starting to itch for a home makeover soon. Even if you have a busy schedule, it doesn’t take much to give your home a quick makeover (or not so quick, for the more motivated).

If you’re contemplating making some home transformation changes like adding some new furniture or installing an indoor water fountain, you might want to check out some of these ideas.

Try Removable Wallpaper

If you’re looking to shake up an entire room, you can always decide to throw on some removable wallpaper. If you ever change your mind, it’s exceptionally easy to take down, and you can throw on other designs if you get tired of it in a few months. The awesome thing about wallpaper is the fact it’s easy to put on, and not as messy as applying paint. There are also a multitude of designs that you can find online, or in-store, and you don’t need to invest a huge amount of money doing it.

Remodel Your Bathroom

Along with the living room, and the bedroom, the bathroom is a location where we spend a lot of time. It’s also the area where guests are most likely to pay a visit during their stay. Remodeling a bathroom is an awesome way to make a statement about the feeling you want to impart to those who come to your home. If you’re looking into remodelling your bathroom, you may want to consider hiring a contractor like plumbers. This will enable you to undergo any renovation works that you cannot complete yourself that will brighten up the bathroom space and ensure the facilities can last for as long as possible. Your bathroom is an important room in your home so you want it to be in pristine condition for as long as possible. If you’re doing any work regarding the plumbing or reconstruction you definitely want a professional taking on the job.

Walls Don’t Have To Be Monotone

Two-tone walls are a great way to completely spruce up a room, and give your eyes a break from the same-colored walls. This works best with walls that have a darker color along the bottom, and a lighter version of the same shade on top. Dark colors tend to “feel” heavier, so they are more natural to view near the ground. Ensure that the lighter color takes up a great portion of the walls, it will generate more a light, calm feeling throughout the room, and you won’t feel trapped in an enclosed space this way.

Get Out The Drop Sheets

You can convey a smooth, flowing aesthetic by painting the ceiling of a room you’re looking to give a makeover. If you are looking to stretch the mood that a color conveys, the ceiling is a great way to do that. Oftentimes, we forget about the ceiling, but it can play an important role in the overall vibe you’re looking to distribute. Ceilings can be a pain to paint, but at least you don’t need to worry about cutting the corners on the walls anymore. So if you’re up for a challenge, get yourself a ladder and some drop sheets, and change up your living space!

Give Your Home Some Life

Along with changing wall colors, remodeling, or adding decor, such as taking the time to learn how to install DIY blinds, you can throw some plants in your house to make it more homey. Plants are amazing in the sense there are multiple kinds that can compliment any style you’re looking to give off. If you’re going for a warm, cozy feeling, houseplants can really compliment this atmosphere. Giving your home some plant life can help avoid creating the feeling you’re trapped indoors. They are also great for the air inside your home and can be healthy overall.

Update Light Switch Panels

Light switch panels tend to have the same look from home to home, and it’s a wonder why people aren’t trying to get creative with them. This is an easy way to update your look from room to room, or keep a clean style throughout the house. You can either look online for custom panels, or you can get creative and add some paint on your own. This change isn’t very common and with it, you’re able to make a statement that “my house is different”. Going with pure chrome panels can also complement a modern choice of house design, the only limit is your own imagination.

There are many other easy ideas you can use to give your home a makeover, like updating your furniture or decluttering with some spring cleaning. A fresh coat of paint anywhere can really overhaul the atmosphere and make it seem like you are living in a different house. Doing renovations can be a more expensive alternative, but it’s almost always worth it as it raises the value of your house. With a little elbow grease, you can easily give your home a makeover with these ideas!
