Vacations and holidays look a little different when you have a furry friend on the line. Do you take your dog with you? Do you leave him behind with a close friend or a sitter? If you do bring them, how should you travel with your dog?
For some, this added level of stress is enough to keep them from going on their holiday to begin with. However, worrying about what to do with your pet is no reason to stop yourself from enjoying some relaxing time away from work. There’s no reason you can’t take your beloved canine with you on your adventures!
Consider the following reasons why you should bring your furry friend along for the ride.
Dogs are the most common emotional support animals for a reason – they can have an incredibly calming presence. If you’re traveling with younger children, they tend to feel unsettled and scared when flying somewhere new. The same goes for adults; it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when traveling, especially on an airplane.
Get yourself an emotional support dog letter to make it easier to travel with your dog. They’ll be able to sit with you and keep you company during the trip.
One of the biggest benefits to bringing your dog with you on vacation means you won’t be homesick! They’ll be with you the entire time and remind you of where you came from!
Pet owners often feel that their time away from home is lacking the presence of the unconditional love and support that their pets give. Keep your family fully together by bringing your pooch.
Kennels are not cheap – and they’re most likely not your dog’s favorite place to be left at. If you don’t have a close friend who is willing to do you a favor by dog-sitting while you’re away, you better be ready to shell out some serious money for a decent kennel.
Taking your dog with you is simply a less stressful alternative to forking out the cost of a pricey kennel.
If your dog is the kind that enjoys getting outside and exploring new terrain, think of how much joy you will bring them by taking them with you on your vacation. That’s a whole new world of things to sniff! You’ll both cherish the moments spent frolicking on the beach.
As much as you might want to sit back and enjoy a relaxing holiday, you’ll probably end up worrying about your dog the whole time if they aren’t with you. Rather than spending your whole vacation worrying, just bring them along and enjoy the getaway together.
Nobody likes to come home to a sad, sulking dog after being away for a while. It’s not uncommon for them to remember that you left them and remain annoyed for a while after you return home.
If you want to keep your pet in a balanced routine surrounded by the family they love, the best thing to do is to bring them with you.
Your whole family will treasure every minute you spend with your pet on vacation. This won’t be your typical getaway; having your dog there will make it special.
Your excursions will be more memorable and enjoyable when your best friend is there to enjoy it with you. And you’ll even get some great snapshots for your Christmas card!

I've always enjoyed when I've been able to take my dogs with me.
Ironically, we just got a puppy last week. I don't think we will do any travelling until she's potty trained and a bit bigger.
