How To Organize Your Beauty Products

If you have a lot of beauty products, you might find that it’s easy – and quick – to run out of space. You won’t want to curtail your buying, especially as this kind of retail therapy can be so enjoyable, but you also won’t want all your new things to completely fill up your home. So what can you do? Luckily, there are a number of different tricks to use to organize your beauty products in the best possible way. Read on to find out more.

A Mirror With A Shelf

You need a mirror to put your makeup on, but you also need space to store all your makeup and other items. Why not combine the two elements and buy a mirror with a shelf underneath? In this way, you can have the benefit of the extra storage, and since you would have had a mirror anyway, you’re not buying anything you don’t actually need. This leaves more money for beauty products. Put the items you use the most on this shelf, and you can pack everything else away. When you need something extra, you can find it easily, but most of the time, everything you need will be right in front of you.

If you already have a mirror that you like, you could instead opt for adjustable wall mounted shelving. In this way, you can still combine your mirror and shelving needs and allow for additional storage.

Left To Right

Another way to organize your beauty products is to use a left to right sequence (or right to left if you’re left-handed). Placing the products in the right order in a line makes it much quicker to find them and use them.

This idea is particularly useful if you are short of time in the mornings and want to get ready for the day more quickly. It may not seem like much, but this small change of organization could add up to many minutes in the week.

Transparent Organizers

Maybe you don’t want to have everything on display because you prefer the tidiness you get when everything is stored, or you just don’t have the room to keep everything out. However, the problem with hiding everything is just that; they’re hidden. When you want to use them, it takes a long time to find what you need, and it will cause a mess anyway.

Transparent organizers are the perfect answer. Not only can you store everything neatly, but you will be able to see exactly what is inside each container without having to search around or even necessarily remove the lid.

Hanging Shoe Organizer

If space really is at a premium and you don’t have room for any additional organizational products, think again. There might be room for something else. A hanging shoe organizer, designed to be attached to the back of a door or even a wall, contains several small pockets. Of course, they are traditionally used to hold shoes, but these pockets could be ideal for holding mascara, perfume, lipstick, foundation, and much more.

You’ll find around 24 shoe pockets in each organizer, which should be plenty for at the least most well-used of your items.

Declutter

Decluttering may be the most challenging yet most gratifying phase of the process of organizing your beauty products. You have to be ruthless in this situation. Begin by gathering all of your beauty goods, including cosmetics, skincare, body care, and hair care. Then sort the items into two piles: those you use and those you don’t.

Check the best before date on the back of the package for all of these goods. Expiry dates aren’t always accurate, but the ‘period after opening’ or PAO is a good one to use, and your skin will thank you. Those dates exist for a purpose. Keep an eye out for mascara, cream-based cosmetics, and face serums/moisturizers since they have a shorter shelf life. Throw out the expired ones and, if possible, recycle or reuse the packaging. As a useful tip, instead of throwing away scraps of moisturizer, use them as a foot cream.

Sort By Category

After you’ve thrown out or given away everything that is no longer supporting your beauty objectives, it’s time to split your products into categories. This stage is quite useful for determining what you have. If you don’t have a lot of goods, separate them into piles for face, body, hair, and miscellaneous. Or if you have more items, you can categorize your goods like moisturizers, serums, eye cosmetics, lip makeup, and so on.

That may be all you need to do for the time being, but if you have an extensive collection, you can use this as a chance to check whether you use all of them regularly. You should highlight the ones you use the most often so that when you start looking for a place for them, these are the ones that will go at the front of the cabinet so you can easily get them.
