However, time spent in planes and in environments that are varied from our norm can place pressure on our skin, as can the stress that comes with trips away.
It’s wise to consider not just your luggage and itinerary when you go away, then, but also how you can best look after your skin as you travel.
While you might be in unfamiliar places doing different things, this doesn’t mean that all of your routines have to alter. Instead, try to keep your usual skincare routine going so that your skin doesn’t get upset by a lack of consistency. When we’re away, we tend to lose our everyday habits based on daily rituals and reminders, which means it’s easy to forget to care for your skin correctly, and it will suffer as a result.
If you keep to your typical morning and night routines, though, you’re more likely to avoid having skin that’s terribly irritated or dehydrated, suffering from breakouts, or dealing with eczema and other common issues. Ensure you don’t skip out on paying attention to your lips and eyes like normal, too, since these are the parts of the boy that usually dry out or get sore the earliest when in different environments.
You’re probably looking for ways to pack less in your suitcase when you travel so you don’t have to cart as much around. However, it’s best to avoid cheap and often chemical-laden hotel products when it comes to toiletries and skincare and travel with your own goods instead. Stick to your at-home skincare routine by bringing the essential items you use at home away with you rather than testing new products that may not be the best quality and can cause breakouts.

If you don’t think you can fit everything you use at home into your bag, at least pack a decent cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup removing products such as micellar water or wipes for those times when you can’t access a sink. You may also want to carry the quality CBD lotion for your body that you use at home and medications you apply to or take for your skin. Since dehydration is common when traveling, consider packing a facial mist to help your skin stay hydrated, too.
Next, consider taking some supplements on your journey. When we travel, it can be hard to eat as healthily as usual and our skin can suffer as a consequence. As such, for those times when you can’t cook your typical nutritious fare or buy meals that are as good for you, supplements can come in handy. This is particularly the case if you plan to be travel for many weeks or months, not just a short trip away from home.
You may like to take vitamin C tablets with you to boost your skin’s collagen production and reduce the signs of aging, not to mention fight off illness. Also, you could pack some omega-3 fatty acids (EFAs), Vitamin E, Vitamin A, and liquid zinc for your time away.
It’s also important, while you’re on your journey, to protect your skin from the sun and avoid getting sunburned or opening yourself up to sunspots and more signs of aging. Take care of your skin by using sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and clothing, especially if you’re going to be spending a lot of time in swimwear and other skin-revealing outfits.
Some other ways to look after your skin when you’re away from home include by staying hydrated, ensuring you get enough sleep, and stopping yourself before you keep touching your face. You don’t want to transfer bacteria and other germs from your hands to your face and deal with the breakouts that can occur as a result.
Traveling is a fun thing to do and can bring many benefits to your mood and life in general. However, you don’t want to spoil your adventures by disturbing your skin. Follow all the above tips closely to keep yourself looking and feeling good.
