Learning About Animals & Ecosystem from the Serengeti in the SavannaScapes Board Game

My daughter has always had a love of all animals and I am always looking for anything animal-themed for her. She of course has stuffed animals, books and toy sets but one thing she does not have a lot of is board games featuring animals. I guess I never really thought of animal-themed board games but it is something I can see being a hit with kids.

SimplyFun has a fun game I discovered called SavannaScapes that teaches kids about the Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem and its amazing diversity of animal life.

Players choose a tile and then create an ecosystem. Kids learn about animal’s needs and earn points. The ecosystem has the animals going around the main tile featuring Dryland, Woodland, Wetland and Grassland. Point tokens are earned each time a player meets the needs of their animals.

SavannaScapes is geared towards ages 7 and up and takes about 30 minutes to play. I really like that up to 5 players can play at once as we are a family of five and most games are for 2-4 players only. I found the game to be easy to set up and understand the gameplay.
