I received tickets in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Bringing your family to Las Vegas is not something that first comes to mind. Usually, it is couples or friends that hit the strip to take in the lights, shows, and casinos but there is actually a lot for families to do. The Las Vegas strip itself it fun to just walk and soak in the casino lights and walk in the various shops and entertainment stops. One of Las Vegas’ newest attractions is FlyOver, which is super family-friendly.
FlyOver is an immersive, state-of-the-art technology “ride” that lets you dip, dive and glide over awe-inspiring landscapes, all without leaving The Strip. You strap yourself in a row of seats and a giant screen in front of you plays and makes you feel like you are flying, don’t worry it does not go upside down or jerk you around. The ride itself is very smooth and honestly feels like you are gliding through the air above the various destinations.
The Las Vegas location was currently showing Iceland and The Real Wild West, which we chose Iceland. You could do both shows for not much more money if you wanted. Once you arrive at FlyOver, you go through a quick video featuring facts and a person talking about the destination which was super interesting. After that you head to the ride which is 8.5 minutes long.
It is a ride unlike any other and more of an experience than a ride. The only thing I can compare this to is Soarin’ from Epcot in Disney World but FlyOver is much longer! I was asked if it is like those rides where 10 or so people go in a box and it moves around – it is not. It is a great attraction to visit to get out of the heat, experience a new destination without actually traveling, or just having some fun with your family of all ages – children must be at least 40″ tall in order to ride but no restrictions on ages otherwise. Even my teens liked it and actually asked if we could do the next show, which is saying a lot!
Check out the FlyOver Las Vegas website to see what destinations are available. You can find FlyOver located right next to Hard Rock Cafe on Las Vegas Boulevard.
