Money-Making Ideas For Moms – All From Home

Looking for ways to earn a little extra cash without leaving the house? Here are a few ideas that can be really lucrative and a lot of fun too. Best of all, they don’t cost much to get started with, are fun and can be done around your busy family life.

Blogging

Setting up a successful blog doesn’t happen overnight, but if you work on creating valuable content then eventually you can start to earn money. You can earn through Google Adsense, and companies may start contacting you about sponsored/paid for work or free products, trips or other perks in exchange for reviews. One of the great things about blogging is cheap and simple to start so you don’t need lots of money or know-how. Everything you need to know you can learn through trial and error, or by researching information online.

Baking

Do you enjoy baking, and are always being told by friends and family how great your bakes are? Why not turn it into a business? You don’t have to be able to make spectacular wedding cakes or fancy occasion cakes to do well in this field. Consider setting up a letterbox brownie business, you could specialize in different kinds of cookies, you could make wedding favors or come up with spectacular desserts that you could sell locally from your home. Apply for your health and hygiene certification so you have the right documentation and know how to set up your home kitchen to meet regulations.

Beauty

If you’re a lover of beauty, have you ever considered setting up a home salon? There are lots of online courses you can do to get qualified as well as local colleges so you can get the experience you need. From there you could be a home-based nail tech, makeup artist or hairdresser. You could do spray tanning, lashes or even look into injectable treatments like lip filler and botox. You could transform a spare room in your home into a salon or look into a summer house for the garden and set up out there instead. Over time you could employ other beauty professionals to come and work with you to offer the services you don’t, just be sure that you have all the right documentation. For example, if you’re employing them directly you’ll need to know what is an ein and have the right insurance cover too.

Crafting

If you have a hobby that involves creating a tangible product, have you considered selling it? Things like jewelry making, pottery, various textile crafts and art all work well. Think from a business point of view and find your niche- for example, if you like to design then you could design logos for businesses, or art prints for children’s bedrooms. If you like to sew you could make heirloom dolls or plushies for the gift market. Think carefully about what your shop will sell and what you can (and will enjoy) making. Do some research on Etsy and find out what your competitors are doing.
