Why Start a YouTube Channel in 2023

They always say New Year, New Year, but what about New Year, new YouTube channel? If you are looking to start or even grow your current YouTube channel in 2023, great! This blog is the right blog for you if you want to learn the tips and tricks that you need so that your channel gets off the ground and thrives. Starting a new channel can be a fantastic way to share a passion that you have with the world, and it can allow you to build your own audience and even make some money.

With the cost of living going up and wages stagnating right now, people are looking for ways to monetize their hobbies. If you love to bake, then a baking YouTube channel with tips and tricks for the best food will really make you stand out. It’s so much more than just posting videos, however. You really have to put some thought into what kind of content you’d like to create, what you’re hoping to achieve with it, and what your promotion tactics will be. Starting a YouTube channel in 2023 isn’t for everyone, so let’s talk about what you need to consider before you get going.

Why?

Why should you start a YouTube channel? This is the part where we are going to tell you exactly all of the reasons you should do it. Anybody in the world right now has the ability to create content. Anybody can decide to start something and make a YouTube channel their hobby. YouTube is an equal platform for every single person to have their own voice. They can reach a global audience, and they can really hit the ground running with their own niche.

Did you know that YouTube has over 2 billion monthly active users? That makes YouTube one of the most popular social media platforms. It also means it’s the second-largest search engine used. Because of this, more and more people and businesses are looking to use a video production company to create their videos rather than just using iPhones. Instead of just doing it themselves and worrying about the wobbly camera, they’re considering a full lighting situation and making sure that they offer what they can and make it look as professional as possible. Some of the reasons why are you say yes and go for it include:

  • Building a community. When you have your own YouTube channel, you are in charge of building your own community of followers. YouTube gives you the chance to connect with people from all over the world who have the same interests that you do. You’ll be able to comment on each other’s videos, share your videos or social media, and build relationships with people around YouTube and beyond. These relationships can really develop beyond the online well, and the community that you have can change your life.
  • Money. Now let’s not be coy here, people don’t just start YouTube for fun. They start a YouTube channel because they know exactly what it can do for them for their finances. If you have the ability to sell your hobby or your ability online, then you need to make sure that you are monetizing that way you can. Money makes the world go round, and nothing is free. Why should your time, your expertise, or your knowledge be free, either?
  • You can help other people. When you share your knowledge or your experiences on YouTube, those who are going through similar situations will be able to come forward and hear what you have to say. They will then be far more interested in learning about what you do. Knowing that you can make a difference in somebody else’s life by giving them information and guidance that they wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else could make a big difference and that can give you that buzz that you are doing something to help other people.

What?

Now that you understand some of the reasons why you should start a YouTube channel in 2023, let’s talk about what you should be wanting to achieve. You need to look ahead and decide whether this is going to be something that you turn into a long term career, or if this is something that you just want to do for fun in your spare time. So, what do you want to achieve?

  • Your goals. Write down a list of goals that you want to achieve as part of your YouTube channel. That can be anything from gaining 100 followers, to getting 100 followers on the other side of the world. Your goals for your channel can be as realistic as you like them to be, but they should also be specific and attainable. There is no point in saying out loud that you’d like to earn $1 million from your YouTube channel, because it may not be attainable for you depending on your niche.
  • Be realistic. While you are goal setting, you should also be setting some realistic expectations to ensure that you can meet those goals. Your content should be of excellent quality, and you should continue to promote your videos when you can. When you engage with your audience, you will see your subscriber count start to grow, and that can help you to really put across to your audience that you are new here but you are here to say. This is super important if you want people to keep coming back for more.
  • Get to know your target audience. So, you want to show off your business skills – and that means you’d like to show people your knowledge. So, you need to have a look on LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube to figure out where you sit in the business world. Are you talking about a very specific marketing term like search engine optimization? Or are you talking about marketing as an industry as a whole? No matter what you do, you need to know who your target audience is. If you are aiming your content at other businesses, that should be clear.

How?

Now that you know why you should do it and what you would like to achieve while you do it, you need to think about how people will find you. Understanding the algorithm that YouTube uses means that you need to understand which keywords are best for your channel. Keywords are going to help people to find you via search engines like Google or Bing, and they’re going to direct people directly to your video. There is a YouTube creator blog that you could read, and watching the creator inside the videos can also help. Some of the things that you should consider when you want to optimize your videos include the following.

  • Your title matters and you have to think about the keywords that will go into that title so that people can relate the video to you as a creator. It should be clear and as descriptive as possible, and it should stand out.
  • How does your image look? The thumbnail that you use for your video can be helped by the video production company that you choose to help you to create. Choosing a thumbnail that is high-quality and really represents the content of your video will help you to really improve the way others can see you.
  • Know your video marketing plan. You can’t just post videos and hope for the best – not if you want to grow your YouTube channel. You have to have a marketing plan that will target your right audience, understand the kind of content they will respond to, and know where you are going to promote your videos. How often are you planning to release your videos? And what budget do you have? All of these questions should be a part of your marketing plan because that’s going to help you to connect better with your audience.
  • Drop some hints. Posting a preview or a teaser for an upcoming video can help to keep your customers engaged. Anybody who clicks on your videos is not your customer, and if they are interested they will be sharing your new videos on social media as soon as they are released. When you engage with other users on social media, you can direct them towards your YouTube channel and help them to feel compelled to continue to come back.
  • Look into paid advertising methods. This is an especially effective way of reaching more people with your videos but it’s important that you should know that it can be expensive. Plenty of social media channels are free to use, but if you want to maximize your revenue and maximize your clicks, then you have to spend your money to make some more. Don’t be afraid to do this – because even if you are on a tight budget anything is better than nothing at all. Paid advertising can shine a light that you need and as you get more clicks and more cash you can invest in yourself.
