Chicago Car Shows 2023 – Family Events

For any car lover, one of the best ways to get your family involved with your passion – rather than showing them your car miniatures and discussing the latest Chevrolet news over a pancake breakfast – is by taking them to a car show. Contrary to the belief of unenlightened folk, car shows are not about getting cars together and showing off what you have.

These shows are all about community, passion, and the excitement of getting sneak peeks of upcoming models. In fact, if your family is umming and ahhing about their fondness of cars, this is a great way to seal the deal and bring their passion up another level. It’s almost impossible to come away from a car show without the roar of those engines still buzzing away at the back of your head.

There’s also a lot still to look forward to in 2023, especially for those in and around the Chicago area. Whether you are thinking about going to one in September or next month, below are the best car shows that we think you should definitely look into:

Tips For Your First Family Car Show

If any of these are taking your fancy, then it’s time to dust off the old diary and get the engine running. Before you set off, however, we’ve got a few tips about how you can coordinate the show and have the best time possible.

First off, a number of people visit car shows to actually buy new cars, but the only issue with doing this is that you will rarely be able to take it for a test drive, which means you can’t get a good feel for it before you buy. As well as this, it’s important to look into your auto insurance in Illinois and get a good idea about premiums before your excitement takes over you. We’re not saying that you shouldn’t buy a new car at a show, but when buying a car you should always think with your head as well as your heart, so make sure you’ve taken care of all the steps to make the purchase a success!

If you’re going to show off – ahem, we mean, present humbly – one of your own cars then there are also a few tips and tricks to getting it right. First off, always make sure to show up early, and detail your car to the show organizers beforehand. Make sure you wash, wax, polish, and show a lot of love to your car before going, as you can guarantee every other car owner has done the same thing. Also, once you’re there, make sure you keep it polite and don’t badmouth other vehicles – even if you think yours takes the cake! Remember, this is all about having fun, taking a look around, and it’s a great idea for family time and getting your family involved in your passion. In short, it’s about the cars, not the owners. So turn up, take a look, buy, present, and let your love of cars rev up all over again!
