While the kids are asleep, try and do a bit of online shopping. If you have a newborn then you probably have the best chance ever to get through a boxset. You can work your way through all of your favorite seasons and you can also book in some relaxation time. Get everything you need to feed your baby ready, whether it is muslins or even some spare bottles. Make sure that you have a drink for yourself too, as this is a great way for you to unwind and relax when you truly need to. This is a small thing you can do for yourself but at the end of the day, it is an easy way for you to make sure that you get some time.
Go on A Walk
Walking is a fantastic way for you to get your baby to sleep. When you go on walks with your baby, why not pop in to see a friend that you have been meaning to catch up with? They will appreciate it and they will also be more than happy to talk with you about your little one. You will also be able to talk freely, without having to tell your little one to put something down every ten seconds. You can also use this opportunity to catch up with friends or family that you have been meaning to see. This is a great way for you to breathe a little and catch up over a hot cup of java.
Make A Relaxation Rule
When your baby is down, it can be very difficult for you to unwind. Instead of spending an hour trying to run around with the vacuum while your baby is down, put your feet up and just unwind. Split the tasks you have to do with your partner and get some “you” time. This can be hard to do at first but when you put it into practice, you will soon be able to feel better about yourself.
Listen to An Audiobook
Another thing you can do is sit down and listen to an audiobook. If you don’t then you may find that you end up struggling to catch up with the news or things that interest you. You may even find that you get a chance to listen to one while they are in their highchair or while they are occupied at home. If you are having a hard time putting an audiobook on because you just can’t hear it over your child then headphones are a fantastic investment. You don’t need to use any hands to listen to an audiobook which means you can run around after your child as much as you want. If you can keep this in mind then it’ll help you out a lot in the long run.
Play some Games
Another thing you can do is sit down and play some games in your spare time. Poker is a great game and you would be surprised at how much it could help you to learn new strategies when it comes to playing card games in general.
