Distracted Driver Accident Attorney

I have been driving over 20 years now and it is crazy how much more people are distracted in their cars thanks to smartphones. Whether people are talking on them, watching movies on them (yes I’ve seen this while driving), checking social media notifications or even checking maps on their phone, people are not paying attention. My mom actually slowly stopped driving about three years ago and now she doesn’t drive at all anymore. She is too nervous about others that it has made her an anxious driver so she just doesn’t drive anymore.

It is scary to look around while driving and see everyone’s glowing screens and many drivers tapping away at them doing something. We all seem to be in a hurry and can’t take the time to pull over to check on something. I admit I am guilty too at times of being distracted but I am trying to be better since I have two new drivers in my household. I am trying to teach my teens good driving habits and since they have grown up with phones, I want them to be able to ignore them.

Now phones are not the only distractions out there, people may be eating, daydreaming, talking to passengers or even dealing with pets or children in the car. I honestly think it should be illegal for a pet to be in the front seat of a car, especially on a drivers lap. I have a big dog and I would never let him in the font are. To me it is the same as a toddler sitting on your lap distracting you.
