Smart Girls Have More Fun

Even though I have boys I do have three younger sisters that I try to be a role model for. While searching around the Internet I came across these girl power videos. “Smart Girls Have More Fun” is the theme for this wonderful video about young girls. It is a video from Cozmo Tv Network entitled “Smart Girls at the Party” featuring Amy Poehler (from SNL and the movie “Baby Mama”). She is great as she interviews and helps focus on how great girls are! She interviews “girls who are changing the world by being themselves.”

Even though Amy Poehler is a comedian these clips are more about empowering young girls and showing off their skills and character traits. This would make a great tool for young girls to watch who need more positive role models or just need a push to show that it is okay to be yourself. One clip I thought was cute was from a 7 year old explaining Feminism and how she is going to change the world!

Amy and her two friends, Meredith and Amy, created Smart Girls at the Party because they wanted to focus on how interesting average girls are and how smart and powerful they are. Overall, it is really neat how they created this as there is so much junk and scary stuff on the Internet that I think it is refreshing to have funny yet empowering videos for young girls.
