Keeping kids busy in the summer can be a challenge and I am definitely not looking forward to when my boys are a little bigger. Right now it is easy as we hang out mostly in the backyard or go to the park. In a few years, when Aidan realizes there is so much more and he wants to do it all! Whenever we can, I love to take them to the Children’s Museum, Great America, and all the summer carnivals, but it is too hard to take them anywhere myself since Gavin is not walking yet. Trying to carry Gavin and chase after Aidan is quite a site to see!
Anyways, one way to keep busy is to check out the local Summer Campsevents widget from Nickelodeon. You can check out local events in your area based on your zip code and find something fun for everyone in your family. Best of all, you can also find deals on local attractions! It is neat how it lists within the events what the category is, ages, times, and the cost. You can also click on a link and read more about the event. I actually found a show at the local zoo by me, that feature “Little People” in a musical show. I definitely recommend checking it out as I was really surprised at all the stuff going on in my area that I had no idea about!
