Contest Queen Book Review & Giveaway – US/Canada (Ends 7/28)

Back when I first started to read and write my own blog in August 2008, I realized that there were a lot of giveaways going on throughout the different mommy blogs I would read. So I started entering them..and you know what…I started winning! Honestly, I can’t remember exactly the first item I won, but I remember being super excited that I actually won something! So slowly I started entering more and more giveaways and in the past 11 months I have won at least 1 item every month, if not 2. No I don’t enter giveaways like crazy, I have spurts where I will enter 10-20 giveaways and other days I don’t enter any.

Then I came across Carolyn Wilman, I saw her on Twitter, and found out that she wrote an awesome book title “You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter.” That is so true and definitely words to live by if you are a ‘sweeper’ or ‘contestor’ (you will have to check out the book to learn the lingo!) Carolyn has two versions, one for the US and the other for Canada, which is where she is located. Now you may think giveaways are easy and what could you possibly learn from a book, well you can learn a lot! Now I first picked up her book thinking I would skim it and read only chapters I thought were interesting. Well after I read the beginning, I was hooked and kept on going! Carolyn covers everything you could ever possibly want to know about giveaways from entering, knowing if they are legit, to paying taxes on winnings! Carolyn is also a sweepstakes enterer and she has won some pretty big contests, including over 40 vacations!

Carolyn’s author bio on the book also says it all “With tens of thousands of dollars in annual winnings from hundreds of sweepstakes, Carolyn Wilman truly is a Contest Queen.” Now doesn’t she sound like a good role model, a motivator, and a truly experienced person to help you start winning! I also want to say that this book reads as part personal experiences, part reference, and part stories from others. She gives great tips, websites, and ideas to where to check out sweepstakes and how to stay organized. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed this book!

You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter: American Edition is a 222 page paperback that retails for $19.95 at Borders, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon. Guess what…I have a copy to giveaway to one lucky reader!
