Disney On Ice "Celebrating 100 Years of Magic" Review: We Loved It!

As a kid I went to every Disney on Ice show there was. I am not sure what fascinated me, but I really enjoyed them. Well thanks to Mom Central, I got the opportunity to take my son, my neighbor, and her daughter to see “Disney on Ice: Celebrating 100 Years of Magic.” I left my youngest son at home because he wouldn’t sit still and since my husband couldn’t go it was going to be too hard for me to tame both boys!

So off we went to see Mickey Mouse and Aidan didn’t have a clue what was going on, but was excited because he knew something special was going on. So we drove the 45 minutes into Chicago and arrived at the United Center just in time. We got an awesome parking spot and then since I was actually VIP, we got to go in early to a pre-party. We were escorted up to our party room and first I must say the room was bright, colorful, and buzzing with bloggers! As we walked in, each child got a goody bag which was totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated! We got coloring books, event programs with awesome show photos, a plastic Disney bucket, light up toy (you know the ones that are like $20 at the shows), a toy car, and a plastic Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Next we found a table to sit at and squeezed in. The room was packed with families, lots of moms, but some dads too. Oh and there were so many kids running around and smiling! Then we got our pictures with Mickey and Minnie, had an awesome buffet, and chit chatted. It was so nice to meet some faces of other Chicagoland bloggers and especially meet Meghan Daly from Mom Central. Meghan along with Feld Entertainment arranged this whole night for us.

After our pre-party, we were off to our seats. Now like I said I have been to many ice shows, but I have never been so close, we were in row 7! We sat down just in time and within a few moniutes the lights went down and the show started. Aidan immediately got still and watched. Then out came Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Donald and from that point on, the show was jam packed.

I couldn’t believe how good Aidan sat and watched, he was mesmerized. With Aladdin, Lion King, The Incredibles, Toy Story, Disney Princess’s, Mulan, and everything else, the show really was something. I cannot believe how much was packed into the two-hour show. Luckily there was a 10-minute intermission because we didn’t want to waste anytime going to the bathroom and Aidan needed a break. My neighbor’s daughter loved it and she was really excited about all the characters!

Overall, the show was great and I think I will be taking Aidan to future shows! If you are looking for one in your area, make sure you check out the Disney On Ice website, and use the coupon below!
