I am a Vampire Junkie…

Okay so when the movie Twilight came out, I decided to read the book to see what all the hype was about. I finished it in just over a day and soon became a Twilight junkie. I quickly called my library and tried to reserve the rest of the Twilight Saga, but no luck and with no patience, I decided I would buy them. Oh and I have watched the movie Twilight a million times and I have the soundtrack too.

So I bought the books and read them all…twice. Yeah I was that hooked. Then I heard about the Sookie Stackhouse Series. Oh yeah those were a great fix too for me. I mean I am a 28 year old mom, how many times can I read the Twilight Saga! So I then quickly reserved all the Sookie Stackhouse novels and in about a week I read all 9 books. The books are much smaller and quicker to read I think that Twilight.

Then since I read all the Sookie novels, I needed to watch True Blood on HBO. I actually got my husband interested in it and every Sunday we would we watch it as soon as the kids went to bed. Oh that Eric…..

Now since True Blood is not on until Summer-ish and Stephenie Meyer (Twilight author) is on hiatis and Charlaine Harris isn’t due out with another Sookie book until May 2010 (although she just released A Touch of Dead (Sookie Stackhouse: The Complete Stories) which is a short story collection about Sookie, I have yet to read it yet!) I am now hooked on Vampire Diaries! Yes, I watch it and love it (don’t even get me started on Damon!) I have tried to read the book series but I have been lazy and trying to finish other books first.

I want to add to all of this that before Twilight, I hated vampires. The whole thing about sucking blood disgusted me and I never liked Ann Rice or any other vampire tales. Yesterday though I saw Interview With A Vampire in my brothers room and I snagged it. I don’t even think I saw the entire movie, which I also want to add is next on my list!

It is just amazing how I did a vampire 360 and now I am hooked. I just can’t get enough. I don’t really like other mythical creatures, but hot vampires just do it for me! Luckily there has been no shortage of books to read since the phenomenon has started.

Oh and I of course went to see New Moon yesterday, I took my 11 year old sister, and even though I knew I wouldn’t like it as much as Eclipse and Breaking Down – especially if and when they make Breaking Dawn into a movie – I still liked New Moon. I am more Team Edward so since this one had a lot of Team Jacob in it, it was so so. The wolves were pretty cool and didn’t look cheesy which was nice. I wish though there was more of Italy in it. But I am glad I saw it and I will of course buy the movie and watch it again and again…

So are there any Vampire Junkies out there…anything else I should check out?
