My youngest son is a tornado, especially with food. I basically could follow him around all day with vacuum and still miss debris! I have tried a few handheld vacuums and they all have sucked or should I say they didn’t suck! (Sorry I had to throw that in!) Since the food is usually contained in our kitchen and family room, I usually end up daily (if not more than once a day) pulling out my upright Dyson.
I love my Dyson Upright, it is older, but it still rocks! After going through a few cheaper vacuums in two years, I figured I would invest in a Dyson and save money in the long run. Dyson has yet to let me down, I even had to call customer service a few times and they walked me through cleaning my vacuum and another time they sent me a free replacement part.
Well to solve my handheld problems, I was thrilled to find out that Dyson sells a handheld vacuum. The Dyson Hand-held Vacuum
As soon as I received this vacuum, I couldn’t wait to use it, that I actually began searching my house for dirt! The first thing I noticed was how light the vacuum is (about 3 pounds) and at first I thought how could something so light be so powerful. I was wrong! The Dyson DC31 picked up all the dirt I found with no problems and I didn’t have to go over it a second time. It also possesses a 22.2V lithium ion battery so it recharged up to three times faster than others and also impressed my husband! I can use this for a few days before I have to charge it and then it charges for in a few hours. It also stores a lot and you just click the red button while holding it over the garbage can to empty it.
There are also no cartridges to buy, just wash and dry the one already in there! Oh and the filter is a lifetime filter with an internal dirt trap so dirt gets picked up and stays there! Another feature from the DC31 is that it has a dual power mode. So for basic clean ups you can use the 38 air watts or for tougher jobs you can push a button for 65 air watts which is super powerful!
If you have a animal, Dyson also makes a DC31 Animal that features a redesigned motorized brush bar to swivel for better contact when tackling tough pet hair.
Overall, I am a Dyson lover. I recommend them to everyone and even though my Upright Dyson is a few years old it still sucks like its new and I am sure this handheld DC31 will stand up to the damage my kids will do!
