PUR & Summit on the Summit Filtered Water Cause (& PUR Pitcher Giveaway ENDS 1/13)

Water is something we all take for granted, but right now there is actually a global crisis where clean drinking water is needed. Currently, 4,000, children in developing countries die every day from illnesses and diseases related to unsafe drinking water. PUR and the non-profit organizeation Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW) has committed to bringing safe and clean water to those in need.

In January, PUR is partnering with “Summit on the Summit” (SOTS), a celebrity climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro featuring Jessica Biel, Kenna, Alexandra Cousteau, and others that will raise awareness and funds for clean drinking water efforts. Grammy-nominated Kenna actually initiated the cause because as a child of Ethiopia, Kenna’s father nearly lost his life after contracting a water-borne disease from drinking contaminated water. Dr. Greg Allgood, Founder and Director of CSDW, will also join the climb as the water authority, educating climbers on the global water crisis and what is being done to help.  You can read more about the cause HERE.

How you can help: For every PUR system purchase, one week of clean drinking water will be provided to a child in a developing country through CSDW. So far, CSDW has already provided 1.8 billion liters of clean water to children and their families around the world. PŪR and the CSDW Program have worked together since 2004 to prevent water-related diseases with tiny packets of PŪR water purification powder, which can transform potentially deadly water into clear, purified drinking water within 30 minutes.

If you haven’t tried a PUR product yet, they really are great. I have a PUR pitcher that I love because it not only removes many of the common contaminates found in drinking water, but I love that it keeps my water ice cold. Also, switching from bottled water to filtered water and a reusable bottle can save one person up to $600 a year and eliminate up to 3,200 plastic bottles. So if you are a bottled water drinker, I highly recommend checking out a PUR pitcher, or if you normally drink from the tap consider it for cleaner water.

BUY IT: You can buy PUR products online or at your nearest retailer.

GIVEAWAY: One winner will receive a PUR Pitcher.

Mama’s Money Savers Disclaimer: I was not given a pitcher to review. This review is 100% my opinion and has not been edited or reviewed by anyone. I was not compensated in any way for this product review.
