Ultimate Party Meatballs and More!

For whatever reason, our house is the party house so I like to keep items around that I can easily whip into appetizers.  One appetizer that always seem to be a favorite is meatballs.  Something about those round hunks of meat always makes them disappear, sometimes before I even get one for myself!

I am also about making whatever I can in the crock-pot because I can start it in the morning and by kick-off the meatballs are ready.  Well thanks to Heniz and Ocean Spray, I am now a top chef and the best part is that I only need 3 ingredients!

Ingredients
(1) 14-ounce can Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce
(1) 12-ounce bottle Heinz® Chili Sauce
(1) 2-pound bag frozen, pre-cooked, cocktail-size meatballs

Directions

Combine sauces in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth. Add meatballs. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are heated through, stirring occasionally.
Makes 30 appetizer servings.

Slow cooker Preparation: Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Combine sauces and pour over meatballs. Cover and cook 4 hours on HIGH.

When I first read about these meatballs, I thought it was strange and didn’t think I would like it.  I mean Chili Sauce and Cranberry Sauce – were those two items meant to go together?  Well I have to say, they make a fabulous couple!  I made these meatballs in my crock-pot and they were so delicious!  I actually am going to have to probably triple the recipe next time as they were such a hit!  No one believed me what I used until I showed the recipe online, and then they were like “Oh wow!”

Now I am not an adventurous cook so I didn’t change or add anything from the recipe, but there are definite possibilities I’m sure, although why change what works!  There are also a bunch of other delicious sounding recipes to try out with Heinz Chili Sauce and Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce that you can find at the Ultimate Party Meatballs website.  For example, instead of meatballs use chicken drummettes for the Ultimate Party Wings!  I am so excited to explore what else I can make and can’t believe I never heard of Heinz Chili Sauce before!  You can also check out Entertaining Ideas and Party Enhancements!
