Luckily my kids love water, granted they think it is cool because it is something other than milk. I know though as they get older that they will realize how un-cool and boring water is and I am a horrible influence as I am not a big water drinker. I know how important water is but I never realized just how vital it is.
Here are some interesting water facts I just learned:
• More than 50% of our body weight is water which we could not survive more than a few days without.
• Water helps our bodies maintain a healthy weight.
• Water improves our attention span, concentration skills and appearance!
• Water helps direct our bodies cells so they function.
• Our immune system relies on water to help fight illnesses that enter our bodies!
A mom decided that she needed to come up with a way for her kids to drink more water. She got together with other moms and with the help of their kids, WAT-AAH! was born. It is the first premium water brand by kids for kids, without any sugar! The inventor’s kids helped design the bottle, colors, the boy on the label, and the name! Their mission is to “reverse the established behavior and dependency on sweetened dinks among American children, thus reducing the alarmingly high rates of childhood obesity. Ultimately, WAT-AAH! aim to teach kids that healthy bodies can be obtained through healthy hydration!”
I received each of the four WAT-AAH! formulas and love them. First off, the bottle looks cool and not boring or plain. I tried them all with my boys and they were super excited to test them out. Like I said, they like water, but when they saw these bottles with the boy on it and the bright colors, they thought it was a special treat! I think these would really help older kids drink more water as they care more about appearances and brand names usually. I didn’t notice a difference in any of them, but then again I had to fight to try them with both my boys chugging them! I also really like the concept of how each is specialized for something, like bones or body.
Overall, we really enjoyed WAT-AAH! and I think it is a great way to get kids to drink water that is pure and formulated to be healthy! I probably would have liked a flavor to them, but then that would add sugar and defeat the purpose. I found the best way too to get my kids to drink water is to serve it ice cold. Now I just have to wait to a store around me carries them or order them online in the meantime.
